A growing pandemic of the novel coronavirus has infected over 353,000 people around the world, spreading to every continent except Antarctica since emerging in China in December.
In the U.S., there are more than 35,300 diagnosed cases of the disease caused by the new respiratory virus, known officially as COVID-19, data compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University shows.
The disease spans every state as well as Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico, forcing millions of Americans to stay home in an effort to contain the disease.
Across the globe, more than 15,400 people have died. At least 473 people have died in the U.S.
